Yes, Nick Fury Will Appear in CAPTAIN MARVEL

For a while, it has been suggested that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will appear in 2019’s Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. Jackson suggested in an interview a few months back that he would pop up in this movie, as well as the next two Avengers films. Then, Omega Underground learned from production crew recruitment that Jackson is co-starring in Captain Marvel.

Now, it’s happening. Deadline has verified that Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel. It’s unclear exactly how big his role in this movie is. Captain Marvel will serve as Fury’s tenth Marvel movie appearance; Jackson signed a nine-movie contract. He also appeared in a couple episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s first season.

Fury played a crucial role in the beginning of the MCU, recruiting Iron Man and the other heroes for his “Avengers Initiative.” The last time we saw Fury, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. popped up in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron to once again assist our heroes. Since then, he’s been absent from Marvel movies, but he will make his grand return in the next two Avengers, and now Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, with the script written by Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve. Production will begin early next year for a March 8th, 2019 release.
