CAPTAIN MARVEL Movie Recruits a New Screenwriter

This year has seen some major movements on Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson as Marvel Studios’ first lead female hero. Directing duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck were hired to take the helm, while Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury. At San Diego Comic-Con last month, it was revealed that the film will take place in the 1990s, and the Skrulls are the main villains.

Now, the movie is getting a new writer. According to Deadline, screenwriter Geneva Roberston-Dworet is replacing Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman on the Captain Marvel script. LeFauve and Perlman were originally set to create the script, but with the former moving on to another project, Marvel brought on Robertson-Dworet.

Captain Marvel serves as Robertson-Dworet’s latest big project. Her past credits include Warner Bros.’ Tomb Raider reboot and Suicide Squad spin-off Gotham City Sirens.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it. Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, 2019.
