SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Swings Past $700 Million at Worldwide Box Office

Another day, another box office milestone achieved by Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The critically acclaimed reboot crossed the $300 million domestic mark the other day, and this weekend, it’s reached a key worldwide benchmark.

According to Box Office MojoHomecoming made an estimated $6.1 million this weekend in North America, ranking at #7 in the week’s top ten. This brings its domestic total to $306.5 million, with its its international total at $395.6 million. Its worldwide total is now $702.1 million, bringing the movie past the coveted $700 million mark.

Worldwide, Homecoming is now the eighth highest grossing installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while it is the ninth biggest film domestically. It is also the seventh highest grossing movie worldwide of 2017, and it is the fourth biggest in North America.

As for other Spidey films, it’s only $7 million away from passing 2014’s Amazing Spider-Man 2. With the film opening in Japan this weekend and in China next month, its worldwide total should push it past both Amazing movies and maybe even 2004’s Spider-Man 2.
