X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Adding New and Old Characters to the Cast

Filming is now underway on the next main X-Men film, subtitled Dark Phoenix. The bulk of the cast from the First Class trilogy are coming back, along with new additions such as Jessica Chastain’s Lilandra. Now, a new report suggests that four more characters are joining the cast – two are new, while we’ve met the other two before.

According to That Hashtag Show, actors Kota Eberhardt and Scott Shepherd have joined the X-Men universe. Eberhardt plays a character currently known as Luna, described as “…intense and exudes a sense of power. Although she is a commanding presence, she is also slightly unhinged.” Meanwhile, Shepherd plays Dr. John Grey, the father of Jean Grey.

Additionally, Fox is in talks with actors Evan Jonigkeit and Gregg Lowe to reprise their roles of Toad and Ink, respectively, from 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. It’s unknown exactly what their roles in Dark Phoenix would be, but That Hashtag Show speculates that the movie could feature Magneto assembling his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, hence why Toad would show up.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
