FEATURE: The 10 Most Powerful Members of the JUSTICE LEAGUE

Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia

We all know that the Justice League is the greatest superhero team in all of comics, but just how powerful are they? Today, we will be looking at the 10 of the most powerful Justice League members. This is based on the characters sheer power; meaning heroes who rely on gadgets won’t be on this list (we still love you, Batman). Also, characters such as the Green Lanterns are being excluded from the list. The Lantern Corp would take up the entire list, and that’s just not fair, is it? So, without further ado, let’s begin!

10. Aquaman

Arthur Curry is the king of Atlantis, and one of the more powerful characters in the DC Universe. Now, Aquaman has been made fun of for having stupid powers and being weak or lame. He’s actually mighty. His abilities include superhuman strength, enhanced stamina, telepathic control over all marine organisms, and more. His trident grants him the ability to create force fields, control the weather, and did I mention that it turns into a sword? Also, keep in mind that Aquaman commands all underwater life, and the earth is 71% water. The man can throw a hurricane at you. Don’t mess with the King of the Sea.

9. Orion

Orion is the son of Darkseid [evil Lord of Apokolips] but was raised by Highfather, the ruler of the utopian world of New Genesis. As a New God, Orion is immortal and has enhanced physical and mental attributes. His sentient transport platform can fly, create teleporting Boom Tubes, locate targets and fire energy beams. He’s gone toe-to-toe with Superman on numerous occasions. Orion has god-level power, and not many can’t top it.

8. Zatanna

Zatanna Zatara is probably the best magician in the entire DC Universe. She’s an expert at her craft and knows many spells. Her magic allows her to teleport, create mystic barriers, fire energy bolts, control the elements, healing, and the ability to manipulate minds. Magic is always hard to judge when it comes to characters power level, but Zatanna is easily one of the best in the world. Whenever she gets into a jam, she has a spell to help her get out of it. The only thing that holds her back is herself. She has to be able to say her spells backward, meaning she needs a decent amount of practice. As long as she can speak, look out.

7. Wonder Woman

Taking the seventh spot is the queen of comics, Wonder Woman. Diana has changed over the years, but her abilities have stayed mostly the same. Her strength and durability match the gods. She has expertise in all forms of armed and unarmed combat, flight, the Lasso of Truth (self-explanatory), and the Bracelets of Victory that contain and channel her power. Wonder Woman’s strength rivals Zeus. She is one of the most dominate warriors on the planet, but also one of the smartest. She can go toe-to-toe with anybody that stands in her way.

6. Martian Manhunter

J’onn J’onzz is one of the most overpowered characters in comics. J’onn has near-invulnerability, regenerative abilities, superhuman strength, flight, telepathy, telekinesis, shape-shifting, phase-shifting, x-ray vision, and genius level intellect. How do you stop someone that powerful? Light a match. Manhunter’s weakness is fire, like literally everything one else. Still, he’s one of the smartest and most powerful beings on in the universe. Superman believes that Martian Manhunter is the most powerful being on earth, and he’s probably right. There is nothing this guy can’t do.

5. Doctor Fate

Many have held the mantle of Doctor Fate. I guess this spot goes to the Helmet of Fate. The helmet is inhabited by the spirit of its original owner, the ancient priest Nabu. The wearer is possessed and given Nabu’s power. Those powers include spellcasting, flight, healing, phase-shifting; the ability to channel and redirect lightning, water, earth, fire, and air. Fate is the Lord of Order and has been fighting mystical threats for centuries. The Helmet of Fate will always be around, and if someone wears it, they’ll be unstoppable.

4. Shazam

After getting powers from a wizard, Billy Batson became one of the most powerful beings in the world, Shazam! He was granted the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. Shazam is basically a god. He’s Superman if the Man of Steel also had magic abilities. The combination of wisdom, strength, and magic gives him the edge is almost every fight.

3. The Flash

Now, both Wally West and Barry Allen can take this spot, but today I’m going with Barry. The Flash’s powers don’t compare to others on this list: super-speed, super-endurance, accelerated-healing and the ability to vibrate his molecular structure fast enough to pass through objects. Flash’s power lies in the Speed Force. Barry has a closer connection to the speed force than any other speedster. It gives him the power to travel to different realities through the multiverse, time travel, and the ability to throw lightning. He changed reality in Flashpoint and drastically changed the lives of the Justice League. That’s what makes The Flash is so powerful, the ability to rewrite history whenever he wants.

2. Superman

The Man of Steel comes in at number two. We all know Superman is great, but I think we forget just how mighty he is. He has super-strength, super-speed, flight, invulnerability, accelerated healing, x-ray vision, heat-vision, freeze-breath, and that’s just to name a few. Superman always takes on the strongest villains and wins. No one who can beat him unless the writers really want him to lose. If you haven’t noticed, we’re rating everyone in this on a scale of 1 to Superman. He’s the gold standard, the cream of the crop. So, why isn’t number one?

1. Captain Atom

Captain Nathan Adam is a hero with the ability to control the power of the atom, allowing him to shape matter and energy to his will. He can also detonate himself like a bomb releasing vast amounts of energy. Atom has the speed to keep up with the Flash and can create red sun radiation to take down Superman. Nate’s molecules continuously undergo fission, so he has an almost infinite amount of energy. It seems as time goes on he gets a new ability. This guy is basically Doctor Manhattan. I honestly don’t know how you stop him.
