Lizzy Caplan in Talks to Join GAMBIT Movie

After some time in development hell, Fox’s Gambit movie is finally moving forward. Channing Tatum is attached to star as Remy LeBeau, with Gore Verbinski set to direct. Now, pre-production is well underway, and casting for additional characters is in the works.

According to Variety, actress Lizzy Caplan is in talks to join Gambit as the female lead. It’s unknown who this character is, but previously, the female lead was Belladonna Boudreaux, who was originally set to be played by Léa Seydoux. With the film recently undergoing rewrites, it’s unknown if the character is still in the movie. (They could’ve replaced her with Rogue, for all we know.)

Gambit marks the second Marvel Comics property for Caplan, who previously starred in the Marvel One-Shot Item 47. She is best known for her Emmy-nominated role in Masters of Sex.

Stay tuned for more as we have it. Gambit is set to hit theaters on February 14th, 2019.
