Ray Fisher Talks Cyborg’s Next Appearance and Hopes for Solo Movie

After a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg makes his formal debut in next week’s Justice League. The character has been hyped up as a big part of the team, as well as the shared universe. It was previously announced that Cyborg will be in the Flashpoint movie, while a standalone film was set for 2020. However, the latter movie has had no movement since its original announcement.

In an interview with ComicBook, Fisher confirms that he knows when and where Cyborg will return to the big screen after Justice League. “Yes, I do. I know the next film that I’ll be Cyborg on.” Of course, he doesn’t say what that next film is.

Talk then turned to the Cyborg movie. While Fisher can’t confirm specific details, he does share his vision for the film. “If I had my druthers, I think a Cyborg standalone would be a slightly more intimate story. One of the things that I always think is interesting with these sort of universes, is whenever there’s a world threatening crisis, it always makes you wonder, ‘Where are the other members of the group? Why didn’t they show up?’ I think finding an organic way to explain why these characters have to have their solo mission.” So, while Aquaman is in Atlantis or Superman is in space, Cyborg could be in his own corner of the universe and doing his own mission. Sounds legit.

Hopefully, Warner Bros. will continue pushing Cyborg and the rest of the League after the film comes out on the 17th. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
