Justice League of America
Directed By: Félix Enríquez Alcalá
Produced By: Larry Rapaport
I’d like to quote one writer and say this is 80 minutes of my life I won’t get back.
Special effects, costumes, the weird interview thing that was going on the entire movie and the acting were all terrible, to cover all in one sentence.
So lets start with costumes:

They look like kind of like a patchwork quilt from a 12-year old. Yes, it was 1997, but I’d still have liked to have seen better workmanship from the wardrobe department. And while I realize this was for, Fire and Ice’s costumes don’t look right at all. They should have matched them more with the comics. Green Lantern’s doesn’t look right either. And the creepiness of Martian Manhunter… it looks like wardrobe tried recreating the The Mask but gave up forming the mask to the actor’s face.
The special effects were not as bad as the costumes, but still bad. The Atom shrinking, Green Lantern’s ring “tricks”, and Fire and Ice’s powers, they all look like cheap parlor tricks.

Now the acting: Atom was really really awkward, Ice was downright WEIRD and ummm what’s the word I’m looking for? off the wall… wacky. Hmmm I’m sure I’ll think of something. Thinking about the rest of the team, every male in the JLA was mega awkward. Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and I already said Atom. I liked Fire’s actress, Michelle Hurd; she was a bright spot in this movie.
The interview parts through the show were weird and purposeless in my opinion. Huh, I’m using weird and awkward too much. Lemme pull out my thesaurus.

What was I saying? Ah yes, the interviews with the Justice League, extremely eccentric, and purposeless. There was no point to them in the entire show, and they gave absolutely no benefit to the plot line of the show.
Overall, while I love the Justice League and have always wanted to see them in action, I am glad this was not continued. It did not deserve the limelight.

I personally can’t wait to see the Justice League in action this Friday, November 17th. Who knows, maybe I’ll get my 80 minutes back from watching it.
