Warner Bros. Announces 4K Release of Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY

While there have been countless adaptations of Batman on screen, few have had the impact that Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy has had. All three films earned critical acclaim – a rare feat for a comic book trilogy – while the saga grossed a combined $2.5 billion worldwide. The series set a new benchmark that few comic book movies since have come close to matching.

Now, we have yet another home video release of the trilogy. Warner Bros. has announced (via Blu-Ray) that it will release seven Christopher Nolan films, including The Dark Knight Trilogy, on 4K UltraHD Blu-Ray. Each film will be released individually, but if you want the complete trilogy, there is the $70.99 box set. The new releases capture the film in 4K with HDR and includes bonus features, behind-the-scenes content, and digital copies.

Nolan had this to say about the 4K re-release. “4K Blu-ray with HDR is an incredibly exciting new home video format that allows a much closer recreation of viewing the original film print. The deeper color palette comes closer to matching the analogue colors of film and we’ve restored the original theatrical mixes for this release. If you can’t rewatch these films in the theater, this is the best experience you can have in your own home.”
