AQUAMAN is About to Throw Some Hands in New Movie Still

USA Today has published a sneak peek at some of next year’s blockbusters, and among them is DC Films’ Aquaman. The article includes a new still from the movie, which sees Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry getting ready to throw down with…somebody. Is that Black Manta?

The article also includes some quotes from director James Wan. He reaffirms past comments about Arthur trying to “fit in” in this movie, as well as getting to create the world of Atlantis. “Circumstances allow [Arthur] to grow as a human being and then realize the bigger picture of it all and what it means to have these abilities,” the filmmaker says. He also says that Black Manta’s villainy “…is very primal, that classic revenge story. I love the simplicity of that human drive.” In the comics, Black Manta seeks vengeance on Aquaman for killing his father. It wouldn’t be shocking if the same thing happens in the movie.
