DC TV News Bits: TITANS Casting Breakdowns, New SUPERGIRL Character, GOTHAM Star Wants Clark Kent

Courtesy of That Hashtag Show, we have two more casting breakdowns for DC’s Titans series, which is now undergoing production.

[YOUNG JOHN CROSSLAND]Male, Caucasian, To play 10-13, athletic, lean, approximately 5’0″ and not afraid of heights. Please list height on submission. RECURRING GUEST STAR

[DAVE STORY]Male, mid 30s-40s, Caucasian. The downfalls of others only make this man stronger. Polished. Unwavering. Think a young Jack Nicholson. RECURRING GUEST STAR.

The first one is almost definitely a young Dick Grayson, as “John Crossland” was used in the character’s casting call before. This suggests that we’ll be revisiting Dick’s circus past, which saw the deaths of his parents. As for the second breakdown, That Hashtag Show speculates that it could be Bruce Wayne/Batman himself. The description certainly fits Wayne like a glove. But, we’ll have to wait and see.
Titans premieres sometime next year on DC’s streaming service.
Supergirl won’t return until January 15th, but we have some casting news to tide us over until then. According to TV Line, This is Us alum Krys Marshall has landed a recurring role for the second half of the season. She will play Julia Freeman, who’s described as “…a 20-something musician living near National City who holds clues to Reign’s true identity.”

How exactly Julia fights into the fight against Reign is unclear, but after that midseason finale, Kara is going to need all the help she can get to defeat this enemy.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Gotham has featured almost every Batman character imaginable, but if the series’ star gets his way, we could get someone else from the DC Universe.
Speaking with ComicBook, David Mazouz expresses his desire to see a Clark Kent reference on Gotham, and he even has a pitch on how to do it. I’ve said this from the beginning, it’s probably never going to happen, but it would be so cool for some kind of Clark Kent Easter egg come on the show. Even if it was just like a scene in the GCPD with Bullock reading a newspaper with a headline that says, ‘Teenage Boy in Metropolis Saves Busload of Kids.’ No one has to talk about it, just leave it there on the newspaper.” If the show got to feature Clark in the flesh, Mazouz has another idea. “Clark Kent could take a boat ride over across the bay to Gotham and create a young friendship with Bruce Wayne. I think that would be even more cool.”

Currently, the only TV project involving Superman is Supergirl, which featured the Man of Steel himself a few times. Beyond that, why not have a young Clark Kent show up on Gotham for an episode or two? It’d be a neat way to expand the universe a little bit.
Gotham returns sometime next spring on Fox.
