First Image from VENOM is Released

We know, it’s not much to look at.

Sony has finally released a still photo for the Venom movie, courtesy of IGN. The movie will be directed by Ruben Fleischer and features Tom Hardy as the titular character. The photo shows  Hardy looking at an open book. The photo is kind of bland and doesn’t reveal anything, but hopefully we’ll receive a full trailer soon.

Fleischer has confirmed that the movie’s plot is inspired by the six issue miniseries Venom: Lethal Protector, which turned Venom from a villain into more of an anti-hero. The film will also star Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate. Filming for Venom is currently taking place in San Francisco and is slated for a October 5, 2018 release date.
