WONDER WOMAN 2 Director Patty Jenkins Teases “Totally Different” Sequel

Following the massive success of DC’s Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. quickly put a sequel into development. Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot will return for the new movie, which hits theaters on November 1st, 2019. Not much is known about the sequel yet, but it is rumored to be set in the 1980s.

Now, we have some hints at what we should expect. Speaking with ET Canada, Jenkins says that Wonder Woman 2 will be very different from the first film; so much so, it’ll feel more like its own thing and less like a sequel. “We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us. It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier [to do].”

As for whether former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter could make a cameo, Jenkins simply says, “We’ll see.” There was interest in bringing Carter into the first film, but scheduling conflicts kept that from happening. Could it work out for the second film?
