Disney Developing MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR Animated Series Produced by Laurence Fishburne

Marvel has put yet another animated series into development. This one will revolve around a pair of recent fan-favorite characters.

According to Deadline, Disney Channels Worldwide is developing Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, an animated series produced by Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland. Fishburne, who plays Bill Foster in this summer’s Ant-Man and The Wasp, previously teased that he was working on another Marvel project. Now, we know what it is.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur stars Lunella Lafayette, a 9-year-old African-American girl who is a “super genius” and teams up with her red dinosaur to fight crime. Moon Girl was created in 2016, where she was paired with Devil Dinosaur (created in 1978) for a successful comic book series.

The animated series hasn’t been given a formal greenlight yet, and it hasn’t been decided which network (Disney Channel, Disney XD, or Disney Junior) will pick it up. Disney XD is already home to Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-Man. Additional details, such as the voice cast and premiere date, are under wraps.
