Kristen Wiig in Talks to Play Cheetah in WONDER WOMAN 2

This week, we heard a rumor that Cheetah is the main antagonist in DC Films’ Wonder Woman sequel, which is currently undergoing casting and will shoot this summer. Now, we may have an actress for the villainous role, but it’s not who you may have expected.

According to Deadline, Kristen Wiig is in talks to play Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2. Emma Stone previously passed on this role. While unconfirmed, it is expected that this Cheetah is the Barbara Ann Minerva version. Wiig is best known for her comedy work on Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaids, but she has also shown her dramatic chops in films such as The Martian. Cheetah would be her first supervillain role.

Patty Jenkins returns to direct Wonder Woman 2, which will take Diana Prince into the 1980s Soviet Union. Production is expected to begin in May for a November 1st, 2019 release. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
