Warner Bros. Reportedly Considering Christopher McQuarrie for GREEN LANTERN CORPS

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any updates on DC Films’ Green Lantern Corps. Last we heard, David Goyer and Justin Rhodes wrote the script, which will star an older Hal Jordan and a younger John Stewart. Rupert Wyatt was rumored to be directing, but that was never confirmed. Now, a new report brings another filmmaker into the mix.

According to That Hashtag Show, Warner Bros. is currently courting Christopher McQuarrie to direct Green Lantern Corps. McQuarrie is known for directing the fifth and sixth installments of the Mission: Impossible franchise, while he has done script work on movies like The Wolverine and Edge of Tomorrow.

The sites adds that despite the recent DC Films restructuring, Green Lantern Corps is still a priority for WB/DC, with the studio still hoping for a 2020 release.

Revenge of the Fans backs up this report, while sharing a synopsis for the movie…

Former test pilot Hal Jordan, now a veteran of the intergalactic group of protectors for peace and justice known as the GREEN LANTERN CORPS, mentors young recruit John Stewart.

Hopefully, we’ll receive official updates on this soon. Stay tuned.
