LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Upgrades Jes Macallan’s Ava Sharpe to Series Regular for Season 4

The CW recently confirmed that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return for a fourth season next year. We already knew that Matt Ryan’s John Constantine has been upgraded to series regular next season. And now, another character is getting a promotion.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jes Macallan’s Ava Sharpe will be a regular on Legends of Tomorrow next season. An agent-turned director of the Time Bureau, Ava was originally in opposition to the Legends, but later became a love interest for Sara Lance. It was also recently revealed that (SPOILERS for recent episodes) Ava is in fact a clone, and there are countless others made in her image.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer had this to say about Macallan’s promotion. “Jes has a power to captivate in person as well as on screen. She had been guest-starring on Legends for all of two days when one of our teamsters, the guy who had been driving her to set, told me that we ought to make her a series regular. He wasn’t wrong.” He goes on to praise Macallan’s acting skills and how they now have an entire season to further explore Ava’s character.

Legends of Tomorrow‘s season three finale airs next Monday, April 9th at 8 PM EST on The CW. A premiere date for the season four premiere hasn’t been announced yet, but it will likely return sometime next fall.
