Review: Eden’s Zero Chapter One
Just like how some write reviews of pilot episodes, I might as well “review” a pilot chapter. And the honor of this pilot review for pilot chapters goes to none other than Eden’s Zero, the latest manga from Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima. This chapter starts off on what looks like an island inhabited by robots. Among those robots is a boy named Shiki. Shiki’s world turns upside down when a girl named Rebeca and her walking talking cat Happy enter the picture. When Hiro Mashima, the creator of Fairy Tail, announced that he was doing a new series, I got quite intrigued. I am a fan of Fairy Tail…

FEATURE: Why Kenobi: A Star Wars Story on Disney’s Streaming Service is a Good Idea
“Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope!” A galaxy in turmoil, the Star Wars are. In recent days, Lucasfilm has faced steep criticism of The Last Jedi, a box office bomb in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and an uncertain reality, as the House George Built retools future development plans. A rumor recently surfaced that those retooling plans would have a big impact, with the oft-rumored Kenobi: A Star Wars Story potentially being moved to Disney’s new streaming service. Of course, people on social media had a lot to say about this. I don’t understand Lucasfilms, the only Star Wars story movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi is being put on hold because…

Review: LUKE CAGE Season 2
Sweet Christmas. Binge-watching 3 entire seasons of Netflix takes far longer then you might expect. It’s not like a 12 episode anime that usually takes about half a day. Luckily for me though, I had a lot of coffee to help me through it all. Before I talk about the second season of Luke Cage, let me give you a brief rundown of what I think of the first season. The first season is a mixed bag. It’s like a team of soccer players did a fantastic job out on the field, but for some reason or another loses focus on the second half game. It’s almost to the point…

RUMOR: Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Will Cameo in Episode IX, feature in Spin-Off Film for Disney’s Streaming Service
It’s been a crazy few weeks for the Master of Form III. Hot on the heels of Lucasfilm’s retooling efforts, the internet is alight with fresh rumors about a fan-favorite Jedi Master. The Sun reports that Ewan McGregor will cameo as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode IX. This isn’t the first time such a rumor has run the mill. However, the J.J. Abrams directed film starts principal photography next month, so the timetable for signing McGregor fits with recent reports. McGregor is set to film The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep, this fall, giving the actor a brief window in the summer to rendezvous with Pinewood. Elsewhere, The Playlist is…

Box Office Updates for DEADPOOL 2 and SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY
This weekend has been dominated by new release Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and last week’s Incredibles 2, but some other movies have reached key box office milestones. Per Box Office Mojo, Fox’s Deadpool 2 took in an estimated $5.3 million this weekend, bringing its domestic total to $304.2 million. It also reached $403 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $707.2 million. While it’s still lagging a bit behind the first film, these are impressive numbers, particularly when you consider the amount of competition this summer. Things don’t look nearly as good for Solo: A Star Wars Story, however. The film grossed an additional $4.5 million this weekend, finally edging it…

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel Gets a Title
While we keep waiting for that Avengers 4 title, it looks like we already know what the next Spider-Man movie will be called. On Instagram, Tom Holland posted a video saying that he didn’t have any announcements whatsoever…only to leak the Homecoming sequel’s title in classic Tom Holland fashion. The sequel is titled Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film will see Peter Parker travel around the world and outside of New York, so this title makes sense. In this film (set after Avengers 4), Spidey will face off against Mysterio, who may be played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Actors Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, and Zendaya are also returning from Homecoming. Sorry…

James Wan Reportedly Set to Co-Direct SWAMP THING Pilot
Last month, it was announced that DC is developing a new Swamp Thing show for its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. One very interesting thing is that it is being executive produced by James Wan, who directs DC Films’ next title, Aquaman. Now, it looks like Wan will have another role to play. According to That Hashtag Show, Wan is on board to direct the Swamp Thing pilot alongside Deran Sarafian. While Sarafian doesn’t have the blockbuster experience than Wan has, he has a history of directing for television, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House. Swamp Thing has been ordered for 13 episodes. The show will begin production later…

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Promotes Courtney Ford to Series Regular for Season 4
The Arrowverse has seen some recent cast shakeups for next season, and Legends of Tomorrow is no exception. Matt Ryan’s John Constantine and Jes Macallan’s Ava Sharpe will be series regulars for the show’s fourth season, while Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West is out. Now, we have another addition to the main cast. According to Deadline, Courtney Ford has been promoted to a series regular for Legends of Tomorrow season four. On the show, she plays Nora Darhk, the daughter of Damien. Last season, the two worked together to release the time demon Mallus, and Nora was possessed by him for a while. At the end, Nora was arrested by the…

FEATURE: Rotten Tomatoes was WRONG and Netflix’s Live-Action DEATH NOTE Film is Actually Amazing
If you’re reading this on a desktop, the song “Reckless (Don’t Be So…)” by Australian Crawl should have begun to play. If you’re on a mobile device, you’ll have to click the play button to hear those dulcet tones. This song is the opener in Adam Wingard’s Death Note. Wingard has had a productive career, reaching notoriety with the horror films You’re Next, V/H/S, and Blair Witch. He’s also set to direct Godzilla vs. Kong, this October, for a 2020 release date. To say Death Note was in his wheelhouse is an understatement. But the fan reaction to the film was nothing short of toxic. Rotten Tomatoes critics weren’t a…
