JOKER Targeting Two More Actors for its Cast

Director Todd Phillips’ Joker origin movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix, is currently filling out its supporting cast. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Francis Conroy are all in negotiations to join the film. And now, we have word of two more actors joining.

Actor Bryan Callen announced on his podcast The Fighter & The Kid (via Revenge of the Fans) that he has joined the Joker cast. He previously worked with Phillips on the first two Hangover movies. However, he says that he won’t have that big a role in this movie. “I was offered a part. That’ll be fun, but i think it’s only a couple days. Play an aging dancer, stripper. I don’t want to go into the details. I can’t go into the details, but just know it’s gonna be good.”

In other news, Variety has learned that Glow alum Marc Maron is in talks to join the Joker cast. If a deal closes, Maron will play an agent on Robert De Niro’s talk show who helps book Joaquin Phoenix, and he plays a role in the character’s path to becoming The Joker.

Joker will begin production in September for an October 4th, 2019 release. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
