Laurence Fishburne Unsure If He’ll Play Perry White Again

After playing Perry White in DC’s Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Laurence Fishburne switched gears over to Marvel, where he plays Bill Foster in Ant-Man and The Wasp. While many actors have played both DC and Marvel characters, fans have wondered if Fishburne will ever return to the former. Now, the actor weighs in, and he doesn’t sound too optimistic.

Speaking with Den of Geek, Fishburne confirms that he hasn’t been approached about returning to the role of Perry White. “I was unfortunately unable to go do some work on what turned out to be the Justice League movie. I don’t know that I need to go back or if they’ll have me back or not, but I was grateful to have been a part of it. I loved working with Zack (Snyder), I think he makes an incredible superhero movie. I’m just excited to be a part of this (the MCU) now.”

Specifically, Fishburne says that he has not heard anything about a standalone sequel to Man of Steel, which would be the most expected place for Perry to pop up. And, like the rest of us, Fishburne wishes that a sequel would have come sooner. “They just fell behind the eight-ball. I really wish they had started 20 years ago. But that’s all right, they’re where they are.”

If Fishburne doesn’t return to DC, that’d be a shame, as Perry has been a very memorable character in that franchise. But if you still want your Fishburne superhero fix, you can check out Ant-Man and The Wasp in theaters now.
