TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES Tracking to Open Below $20 Million

Teen Titans GO! To the Movies has hit box office tracking two weeks out. While it’s still early days, the animated movie is currently on track for a pretty small opening.

According to Variety, Teen Titans GO! To the Movies is tracking to open somewhere between $14 million and $19 million. The film is opening on the same day as Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which is on track for a $60 million~ debut. This gives Titans big competition, along with several other family films out this summer.

But before we call gloom and doom on the movie, it’s important to consider a few factors. First off, tracking can always go up or down as we get closer to a film’s release, so this range can either increase or decrease significantly by the time it hits theaters. Things like word-of-mouth and critics’ reviews will influence this, whatever the outcome is.

Also, while Teen Titans GO! To the Movies‘ production budget is unknown at this time, it’s possible that it’s really low. Like, below $50 million low. In that case, the movie can afford to make less than others in the superhero genre. Besides, if the movie has good WOM, then that will keep its legs going throughout the rest of the summer.

Stay tuned for more updates as we have them. Teen Titans GO! To the Movies hits theaters on July 27th.
