Hans Zimmer to Score WONDER WOMAN 1984

With Wonder Woman composer Rupert Gregson-Williams moving on to Aquaman, the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has recruited a new composer. And it marks the return of a legend to DC Films.

Hans Zimmer has signed on to score Wonder Woman 1984. This serves as the composer’s latest entry into the comic book movie genre. He previously worked on The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. On the latter film, he worked with Junkie XL on creating Wonder Woman’s now iconic theme. Zimmer is also working on next year’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Back in 2016, shortly after Batman v Superman came out, Zimmer said that he was “retired” from superhero films. A year later, however, he clarified that he’d be open to returning, so long as there was an “amazing” script. Since then, he signed on to do Dark Phoenix and now Wonder Woman 1984.

Zimmer has made some truly incredible contributions to the superhero genre, and we can’t wait to hear what he has in store for this movie. Stay tuned.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 1st, 2019. The eighth installment of the DC Films Universe stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal. Patty Jenkins directs from a script that she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham.
