Oscar Isaac Reportedly Met for a Role in THE BATMAN

We’ve heard a lot of rumors surrounding The Batman in recent months. Most recently, director Matt Reeves confirmed that production could begin in the spring or summer of next year, while the script will be submitted soon. In the meantime, we have a new casting rumor to add to the list.

The GWW is back with another DC movie scoop. This time, the site says that actor Oscar Isaac recently met for a role in The Batman. While an offer hasn’t been made, Isaac is said to be “very interested” in joining the movie. Isaac is best known for playing Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, as well as movies like Ex Machina and X-Men: Apocalypse. So, he has plenty of geek cred already.

As for who he could play, that’s not clear just yet. Apparently, Warner Bros. wants an A-list actor to play the villain. The Penguin and Harvey Dent have been rumored for the film. While there’s a chance of Isaac maybe playing Batman himself, the most recent report said that Reeves is seeking a younger actor (aged 25-30) to take the title role. At 39, Isaac would be a tad too old for Reeves’ take.

Isaac was WOBAM! Entertainment’s top choice to replace Ben Affleck as Batman in our fancast feature. But even if he plays another character, he’s a more than worthy addition to The Batman. Fingers crossed that it happens.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more updates on The Batman soon. Stay tuned.
