The CW Casts Ruby Rose As Batwoman

The CW has found it’s Batwoman!

Deadline broke the news that Ruby Rose will be portray Kate Kane, otherwise known as Batwoman, for CW’s Arrowverse! This will mark the first ever live-action superhero TV series with an openly LGBT superhero in the lead. Rose will first portray the character in the network’s annual superhero crossover which is said to take place in Gotham City. The character will then spin off into her own television series which will begin filming in the spring of 2019 and will air on The CW later in the year.

Rose is a big get for the CW, she had her breakout role in the third season of the hit Netflix drama Orange Is The New Black and then broke out onto the big screen in supporting roles in  movies such as John Wick: Chapter 2, Pitch Perfect 3, XxX: The Return of Xander Cage, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. She also can be on the big screen this coming weekend opposite Jason Statham and a giant shark in The Meg.
