Almost everything about Avengers 4 has been kept under wraps. In fact, the Marvel Studios sequel doesn’t even have an official title yet. An official reveal and teaser trailer are expected by year’s end, and we’ve had some promo art leak. But that’s about it.

In the meantime, an actor from past Marvel movies has confirmed that they are reprising their role in Avengers 4. They even give a hint on what exactly their role is.

The following information may be considered SPOILERS by some people, so if you don’t want to know anything about Avengers 4 at all, this is your warning.

Anyways…

In an interview on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, actor Frank Grillo confirms rumors that he is returning as Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones, in Avengers 4“He makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie. But it’s a flashback…” As for why he’s revealing this information now instead of after the film’s release, Grillo bluntly says, “I’m allowed to say whatever I want because I’m never doing another Marvel movie.”

Rumlow was a HYDRA agent who fought Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He returned as the supervillain Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War, where he was abruptly killed off in the opening act. So, it makes sense that his Avengers 4 return will be simply a flashback.

Like Infinity WarAvengers 4 is expected to feature many, many characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will even feature characters who were absent in the last movie; these include Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Captain Marvel. We’ll see how many more will be featured once the movie comes out.

Avengers 4 is set to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2019. The 22nd installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Karen Gillan, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, and Josh Brolin. Joe and Anthony Russo direct from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
