SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE Tracking for $30-40 Million Opening Weekend

We’re just a few weeks away from the release of Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is already generating very positive buzz. Now, the animated movie has hit the tracking boards.

Right now, Into the Spider-Verse is on track to open anywhere between $30 and $40 million. The movie’s production budget is currently unknown, but these are some pretty solid numbers. They should only go higher as we get closer to its release date. Either way, it should get in a good opening before the next week is dominated by Aquaman and Bumblebee.

Another thing to consider: Very few animated superhero films get a theatrical release. Most of them, primarily DC films, are released direct to video. The only recent comparison would be The LEGO Batman Movie, which opened to $53 million last year.

Stay tuned for more updates as we have them. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is set to hit theaters on December 14th.
