STAR WARS Character Cassian Andor Getting His Own Show on Disney Streaming Service

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story introduced many new characters to the universe, such as Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna). Unfortunately, like every other new character, Cassian died at the end. But it looks like we’ll be seeing more of him in the franchise’s future.

It has been announced that a series starring Cassian Andor is heading to Disney+, the studio’s newly titled streaming service. Diego Luna will reprise the role. The “rousing spy thriller” will follow Cassian’s adventures in the formative years of the Rebellion and before the events of Rogue One. No release date yet.

Luna had this to say about returning to a galaxy far, far away. “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

This marks the latest original project for Disney+. The service is developing Star Wars series The Mandalorian, while Marvel is working on shows starring Loki, Scarlet Witch, Falcon and Winter Soldier. Needless to say, Disney is going all out to make its service a force to be reckoned with.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
