PLASTIC MAN Movie Enters Development (Again) at Warner Bros.

Back in the 1990s, Warner Bros. began to develop a movie starring DC superhero Plastic Man. The project was revived a decade later, with a planned film starring Keanu Reeves and directed by the Wachowskis. Obviously, that never happened. But it looks like Patrick “Eel” O’Brian is being given another shot.

A Plastic Man movie is now in development at WB and DC Films. It is being written by up-and-coming scribe Amanda Idoko, who was hired by the studio after searching for half a year. No director is hired yet. While plot details are being kept under wraps, the film will reportedly stay true to the comedic tone of the comics. This move comes as DC is shifting towards an overall lighter tone to its movies.

While Plastic Man has appeared in various animated movies and shows over the years, this will mark the character’s live action debut. DC has recently put a lot of movies into development, and it’s unclear how many of them will actually be made in the near future. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
