REVIEW: FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD

I took on Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood to review before others because it was one I readily had available.

In Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood we follow the two alchemist brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who are searching for a way to obtain their original bodies. But during their quest, both of the young alchemists get involved in a larger event than they ever could have ever expected.

I know that it might be cliché to say that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a favorite anime of yours considering its popularity in the anime community, but it ends up on many top lists for many reasons.

The plot is intriguing to the very end. It brings up questions about morality in a mature and intelligent way, which is rare in today’s storytelling. Most of the times when an author or screenwriter tackle these, it often comes off as immature or lacking subtlety. Brotherhood has comedic elements as well, making the show surprisingly funny.

Brotherhood‘s characters are some of the most well written in entertainment media. It makes it better when the interaction with the cast work flawlessly.

Whether you’re into anime or not, you should watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It’s a brilliant piece of storytelling that deserves every ounce of spotlight it can get. If you have a Netflix account, the show is accessible there. It’s five seasons long, with thirteen episodes each. Both the Japanese subtitled and English dubbed versions are available and they are both phenomenal.
