The CW has announced its midseason schedule for early 2019, and it includes a couple big changes for the network’s DC slate. Black Lightning will be moving from Tuesday nights to Mondays at 9 PM EST, beginning on January 21st, after the midseason return of Arrow. This marks the first schedule change for the show, which has occupied the Tuesdays at 9 slot for its first season and a half. We’re more than a week away from the premiere of Black Lightning, The CW’s latest DC show. The series follows Jefferson Pierce as he comes out of retirement and resumes the mantle of Black Lightning, the hero of his city. But he won’t be the only hero. DC Comics has released a first look at Jefferon’s daughter, Anissa, suited up as the hero Thunder. In the comics, Anissa’s powers include impenetrability and shockwaves. BLACK LIGHTNING Gets a Premiere Date; LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Moving to New Night
The CW has unveiled its midseason premiere dates for January, and it includes the premiere date for its next DC Comics show, Black Lightning. The superhero series will make its premiere on Tuesday, January 16th at 9 PM EST, following the return of The Flash. The Tuesdays at 9 slot was originally owned by Legends of Tomorrow. However, that show will now move to a new night and time, which are TBA. This marks the second switch for Legends, which spent its first season and a half on Thursdays at 8. DC TV Casting News Bits: ARROW, SUPERGIRL, BLACK LIGHTNING, THE FLASH
While we wait for our favorite DC shows to come back on The CW, we have some casting tidbits for next season. Arrow and Supergirl are adding new characters, Black Lightning has found its big bad, and The Flash has added a new villain. According to TV Line, Arrow is currently seeking an Australian actor to play an “introverted, moody and naturally athletic” teenager in a guest-starring role.
