The CW has announced its early renewals for the 2019-2020 television season. Unsurprisingly, all of the network’s biggest hits – including every single DC show – will be back for new seasons in the fall. Arrow will return for an eighth season. The Flash will be back for a sixth season. Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are heading to their fifth seasons. Black Lightning‘s back for a third season. Right now, The CW’s biggest television shows are the ones based on comics. The Arrowverse consists of four live action shows – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow – with a fifth show, Batwoman, expected to premiere next year. Meanwhile, DC’s Black Lightning has been a big hit, while Riverdale offers a new take on Archie Comics lore. Now, The CW has teased future plans for both franchises. The CW has officially announced that ten of its shows have been picked up for new seasons. These include six comic book adaptations. Arrow, the show that launched the network’s Arrowverse has been renewed for a seventh season. Midseason hit Black Lightning, based on the DC comic, will be back for a second season. Fellow DC adaptations Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow will return for fourth seasons. These Shows Will Be Present at New York Comic-Con 2018
Warner Bros. TV and Marvel Television have announced their lineups for this year’s New York Comic-Con, and a lot of fan-favorite shows will be present. Marvel will be showcasing The Runaways season two at Madison Square Garden, while a new episode from The Gifted will be shown at the Javits Center. Most significantly, we’ll be getting a first look at Daredevil season three in its own panel, which will also be at Madison Square Garden.
