We have some updates on two DC Universe shows, a premiere date for the next big Netflix original, renewal of a hit spinoff, and more. -AMC has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a fifth season. Warner Bros. Television Announces DC-Heavy Presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2018
Warner Bros. Television has announced its plans for next month’s San Diego Comic-Con, and the studio is bringing most of its major DC shows to the spotlight. Everything from the Arrowverse to Krypton to Young Justice: Outsiders will be represented. Additionally, we now know when Freedom Fighters: The Ray‘s second season debuts, while we have new details on forthcoming seasons for other shows. The CW Announces Fall 2018 Premiere Dates
The CW has unveiled its complete fall schedule, revealing when your favorite comic book shows will return to the small screen. The Flash and Black Lightning will premiere their new seasons on Tuesday, October 9th at 8 PM and 9 PM EST, respectively. Riverdale will be back on Wednesday, October 10th at 8 PM EST. Supergirl will return on Sunday, October 14th at 8 PM EST, kicking off the network’s Sunday programming. Arrow debuts on Monday, October 15th at 8 PM EST, its brand new timeslot, swapping with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. LUCIFER Will Return, as Netflix Picks Up Show for Season 4
After three seasons, Vertigo adaptation Lucifer was cancelled by Fox. This led to much outcry from fans, who immediately started campaigning for another network to pick it up. The CW showed little interest, while Amazon said there were talks about a revival. Now, the world’s largest streaming service is here to the rescue. It has been announced (via TV Line) that Netflix has picked up Lucifer, which will now return for a fourth season. The new season has a 10-episode order. SUPERGIRL and ARROW Shift to New Nights Next Fall, iZOMBIE Season 5 is Its Last
The CW has unveiled its fall schedule for the 2018-2019 season, ahead of its Upfronts presentation later today. The new schedule makes a couple big changes on the DC front, while we have confirmation of one show entering its final season. Supergirl is shifting from Mondays at 8 to Sundays at 8 PM EST for its fourth season, kicking off the network’s newly announced expansion to six nights a week. Arrow is moving from Thursdays at 9 to Mondays at 9 PM EST for season seven, following Legends of Tomorrow‘s fourth season at 8 PM. The CW Renews iZOMBIE for Season 5
Last month, The CW gave early renewals to the bulk of its programming slate, including the DC television shows and Riverdale. However, there were a few shows that haven’t been decided on until recently, and the network is renewing or cancelling them. Fortunately, one fan-favorite show made the cut. The CW has confirmed (via TV Line) that iZombie has been renewed for a fifth season. The midseason show, based on the Vertigo comic book, didn’t return until late February this year, and fans have speculated if it was going to get renewed again. Warner Bros. Bringing CONSTANTINE Animated Premiere and More DC Shows to WonderCon 2018
Warner Bros. has announced its television and animation plans for next month’s WonderCon, and several DC shows will be present. Most significantly, the Constantine animated series will be holding its world premiere. The show has been confirmed for a March 24th release on CW Seed. Meanwhile, WB will also be showing off Black Lightning, Lucifer, Krypton, and Teen Titans GO! at the convention. Following the success of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. is planning several more DC movies starring women. Among them is Batgirl, written and directed by Joss Whedon.
