BATWOMAN Changes Directors; Dougray Scott Cast as Jacob Kane
We have an update on the Batwoman pilot! Jacob Kane has been cast; and the show gets a new director. According to Entertainment Weekly, director Marcos Siega has replaced the previous, David Nutter for the Batwoman pilot. Nutter has stepped away for personal reasons. He will still serve as an executive producer on the pilot. Siega has done pilot work for the CW in the past with the Vampire Diaries, and shows for other networks such as God Friended Me, The Following, and The Passage. Danai Gurira is Leaving THE WALKING DEAD in Season 10
Danai Gurira joined the cast of The Walking Dead in season three, playing fan-favorite Michonne. The character has played a key role since then, but on this show, anyone can leave at any time. Even lead man Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, left this season. Now, the end is near for Michonne. It has been announced that Gurira has signed one final deal for The Walking Dead, which was just renewed for season ten. She will appear in a handful of episodes throughout the season. Welcome back to TV News Bits. Today, we have news on one of ABC’s Marvel projects, a premiere date for Cloak & Dagger season two, an update on FX’s Y: The Last Man adaptation, confirmation of more The Walking Dead, and casting for the next Riverdale spinoff. ABC previously ordered a pilot for a female-led Marvel series, from Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg. Unfortunately, the network has passed on the pilot. LEGION to End After Season 3; Professor X Will Appear
So far, FX‘s Legion has run for two seasons, with a third on the way. Unfortunately for fans, all good things must come to an end, as the network had an announcement to make. Legion‘s third season will be its last, FX confirmed at the Television Critics Association (TCA) tour. The reasoning is that creator Noah Hawley always envisioned a three-season run, and he is still committed to that. The season will premiere sometime in June. CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Will Be the Arrowverse’s “Biggest and Most Complicated” Crossover Yet
The next Arrowverse crossover will adapt the Crisis on Infinite Earths story arc. As it was such a huge deal in the comics, fans are expecting to have a similar impact on television. The CW has announced its early renewals for the 2019-2020 television season. Unsurprisingly, all of the network’s biggest hits – including every single DC show – will be back for new seasons in the fall. Arrow will return for an eighth season. The Flash will be back for a sixth season. Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are heading to their fifth seasons. Black Lightning‘s back for a third season. The CW has begun casting for its Batwoman pilot, starring Ruby Rose as Gotham City’s new vigilante. This week, three actors have joined the cast of the potential series, and one of them is playing a key member of the Bat-Family. According to Deadline, these actors have joined Batwoman… Meagan Tandy will play Sophie Moore, a high-level private security agent who firmly supports Gotham. Lady Sif Rumored as Marvel’s Next Disney+ Series
Marvel Studios has several new shows in development at the Disney+ streaming service. Loki, Vision & Scarlet Witch, and Falcon & Winter Soldier are getting their own shows, with Rocket & Groot rumored. Now, we have another rumored title to add to the list. According to Discussing Film, Lady Sif is set to receive her own series on Disney+. Jaimie Alexander will reprise the titular role, with Kevin Feige producing. Full Trailer for THE PUNISHER Season 2 Released
Netflix has released the first full trailer for its latest Marvel installment, a whole eight days before it drops. The second (and final?) season of The Punisher marks Frank Castle’s return to vigilantism, as he takes on new enemies and the returning Billy Russo.
