The Suicide Squad Set To Return In ARROW Season 3 Episode 17
It was previously confirmed that the Suicide Squad will return to Arrow this season, following a well-received introduction in season two and the announcement of a star-studded film set in the DC Cinematic Universe. And now, we know exactly when it’ll happen. ET Online has confirmed that Task Force X will make its highly anticipated return in episode eighteen of the season, titled “Suicidal Tendencies.”
The episode will bring back Floyd Lawton/Deadshot (Michael Rowe) and ARGUS leader Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), as well as new recruit Carrie Cutter/Cupid (Amy Gumenick). Original Squad member Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) will be absent this time around, while Mark Scheffer/Shrapnel (Sean Maher) obviously died last season.
Additionally, “Suicidal Tendencies” will introduce new character Senator Cray, who will be played by Bosch‘s Steven Culp. In this episode, the senator “will be at the center of a rescue operation in the fictional Republic of Kasnia.” In John Ostrander’s run on Suicide Squad, Cray used Task Force X to advance his political standing. Also, this Arrow episode will see the return of Felicity Smoak’s mother. How she factors in to the episode’s storyline has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
UPDATE: Correction – according to writer/executive producer Marc Guggenheim, “Suicidal Tendencies” will actually be episode seventeen of the season, not eighteen. The episode begins production today.
