Cara Delevingne Shares Her Excitement for SUICIDE SQUAD
The Suicide Squad movie has generated much hype since its announcement last year. The supervillain film has assembled a killer ensemble cast topped with A-list stars, such as Will Smith as Deadshot and Jared Leto as The Joker, making it one of the most anticipated comic book movies of next year. And now, one of the film’s actresses has expressed her own excitement.
Cara Delevingne, who plays Enchantress in Suicide Squad, recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the DC Comics adaptation. She reveals that she usually is not a fan of comic book films, but she was sold on Squad. “It’s [bleep]ing insane. I’m not the biggest fan of superhero films. There are so [bleep]ing many. I love the Batmans but some of them I’m not that keen on. I’ve never been so excited to see a film and I’m actually in it.”
Interestingly, Delevingne is the second actor involved with the movie who said he/she was previously not a fan of the genre. Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang, said that he was uninterested in comic book adaptations, but he fell in love with writer-director David Ayer’s vision for Suicide Squad.
Delevingne goes on to reaffirm that she cannot go into more detail about the movie, but she is extremely excited about it. She also praises the on-set chemistry between actors. “I wish I could tell you about it at all. The movie is going to be the best thing in the world. The camaraderie on set is insane.” Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, Common, Scott Eastwood, Viola Davis and Jared Leto. David Ayer writes and directs.
