Danny Elfman Set to Score JUSTICE LEAGUE

In his outstanding career, composer Danny Elfman has tackled many comic book movies. He scored Tim Burton’s Batman movies and Sam Raimi’s first two Spider-Man films, creating two of the most iconic superhero themes ever. He has also worked on Ang Lee’s Hulk and Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. And that’s not even including his work on Hellboy II and the Men in Black trilogy. Now, Elfman is adding another superhero film to his resume.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elfman has been hired to score DC Films’ Justice League. Originally, Junkie XL was set to score, and he was working alongside director Zack Snyder on the score. However, he has now moved on to Warner Bros.’ Tomb Raider reboot.

Elfman comes on board just as Justice League begins reshoots in London. Joss Whedon will oversee the reshoots, which will add scenes that he had previously written. As you probably know by now, Snyder had to step away from the film’s post-production work to deal with a family tragedy.

Elfman previously worked with Whedon on Age of Ultron, where he was also brought in late in the post-production process. It’s unclear exactly how much of Junkie XL’s work, if any, will make it in to the final cut.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Justice League is scheduled to hit theaters November 17th. The fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amber Heard, Joe Morton, Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, and J.K. Simmons. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio.
