Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Teases Involvement With Unspecified DC Movie Project

Quickly becoming one of the biggest action stars of the decade, Dwayne Johnson is one actor that many fans want to see in a comic book movie. Years ago, when a Shazam film was in development, “The Rock” was in talks to play the villainous Black Adam. More recently, he was negotiating to play DC’s Lobo, but he later said that it wasn’t happening. However, Johnson said earlier this year that he was confident he will land a superhero movie role someday. Now, it looks like that day has come.

During a “#RockTalk” Twitter Q&A session, Johnson was asked once more about the possibility of a Marvel or DC role, and he reveals that he has met with Warner Bros. for the latter. “We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assert.” He doesn’t say anything further, but there’s a good chance that he’s talking about Lobo. It was recently reported that DC Entertainment was pursuing a slate of lower-budget movies, and will announce this in 2014. Perhaps Lobo is one of these projects? 2015’s Batman vs. Superman is also shooting in February; could Johnson have a role in that? This is all speculation, but hopefully, we’ll hear something soon. Which DC character would you like to see The Rock play?
