Zack Snyder’s Justice League Review – The Age of Heroes Has Returned
So, this is awkward. Almost four years ago, I reviewed Justice League (2017). and enjoyed it for the Frankenstein it was. I was never a fan of Zack Snyder’s work and didn’t care to see his vision for the DC Universe continue. However, his Justice League changed everything. This is a weird review to write because it’s technically a movie you’ve already seen. The premise is straightforward. Like I said in 2017: “There’s an alien threat coming to take over the world. Batman assembles a team of heroes to try and stop them. It’s simple and straight to the point.” However, the biggest difference is the way Snyder treats his characters. We…

EDITORIAL: Why The Snyderverse Resonates With Me To This Day
Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Two of my favorite superhero movies of all time. These two movies have been a big part of my life ever since Man of Steel was released in 2013. No, they are not bright, colorful, and filled with unnecessary jokes. But they took three of the most well-known superheroes in the world and broke them down so that they can be rebuilt to the moral standards and ideals that people commonly associate with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Yes, you are supposed to question Batmans actions in BvS, the fact that he seem to have dropped his moral code of…

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Review
In the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot returns as Diana Prince and takes us on an all-new adventure in Wonder Woman 1984. It’s a film that tries to be more than just your standard action flick but ends up falling into all of the same tropes as films that came before it. The film has this strange campiness to it, and at times it works, but mostly it doesn’t. We’re obviously in the 1980s, but the winks and nods can be too on the nose at times, and the script is ripped straight from that time period. The plot can be a bit clunky and downright…

5 DC Movie/TV Characters We Want to See in THE FLASH Movie
This week, news broke that DC‘s The Flash/Flashpoint movie will feature a Batman – but not the one anyone expected. Michael Keaton, the star of Batman (1989) and Batman Returns, is in talks to return to his iconic role, in what is said to be the first of several appearances throughout the DC Extended Universe. This opens all kinds of doors for the film. Once thought to be just a loose adaptation of the Flashpoint comic, The Flash will now give moviegoers a glimpse of the DC Multiverse. This can allow for other characters from DC’s film and television history to appear. We saw this in The CW’s Crisis on…

Why WONDER WOMAN 1984 Will Be DC’s Next Billion-Dollar Hit
Despite a rocky start, DC‘s movie universe has been a force to be reckoned with at the box office. Wonder Woman was a huge hit, Aquaman made a billion dollars, and Shazam! turned a sizeable profit. Even the more critically-maligned installments – except Justice League – have been box office hits. And that’s not to mention Joker, which exists outside of this continuity and still made a billion dollars on its own. So, all eyes are on DC’s future. One title that stands out is the sequel Wonder Woman 1984, which arrives this summer. In our latest editorial, we discuss why this will likely be the next DC movie to…

WONDER WOMAN 3 Will Have a Contemporary Story
With Wonder Woman 1984 still a year away, director Patty Jenkins has already teased an inevitable third movie. While it’s not a definite thing yet, Jenkins says that she has plans for how Diana’s arc will end in her trilogy. Now, the filmmaker has offered some more details. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at Sundance, Jenkins says that her plan is for Wonder Woman 3 to be set in the present day, and not be another period piece. “I’m not planning to put it in the past again, because where are you going to go? You have to go forward. It’s definitely a contemporary story. That’s all I can say. Where we…

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Rumor: Pedro Pascal is Playing….
Pedro Pascal is one of several exciting additions to the cast of DC’s Wonder Woman 1984, but his character has been under wraps from the beginning. We saw the one picture of him in the movie, but that’s about it. While we wait on official word, a new rumor (courtesy of our friends at SuperBroMovies) may finally give us the answer. Apparently, Pedro Pascal is playing none other than…… Maxwell Lord! Maxwell Lord is a prominent villain in DC Comics, but as usual, expect some differences for the movie. For example, he won’t have his psychic powers, while this version is said to be hammier and “more liberal.” One iconic…

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Will Bring Back These Two Fan-Favorite Characters
Wonder Woman 1984 is in the middle of production, and despite taking place 70 years after its predecessor, it will have at least some characters from the first film. Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor is back, for example. And now, two more beloved characters are set to make their return. According to PORTER, actresses Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen are reprising their roles as General Antiope and Queen Hippolyta, respectively, in Wonder Woman 1984. The two recently shot a flashback sequence for the sequel in Spain. Further details beyond that are unknown. Both characters played key supporting roles in Wonder Woman, while they had cameos in Justice League. While Hippolyta is…

Hans Zimmer to Score WONDER WOMAN 1984
With Wonder Woman composer Rupert Gregson-Williams moving on to Aquaman, the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 has recruited a new composer. And it marks the return of a legend to DC Films. Hans Zimmer has signed on to score Wonder Woman 1984. This serves as the composer’s latest entry into the comic book movie genre. He previously worked on The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. On the latter film, he worked with Junkie XL on creating Wonder Woman’s now iconic theme. Zimmer is also working on next year’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Back in 2016, shortly after Batman v Superman came out,…
