Box Office Updates for DEADPOOL 2 and SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY
This weekend has been dominated by new release Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and last week’s Incredibles 2, but some other movies have reached key box office milestones.
Per Box Office Mojo, Fox’s Deadpool 2 took in an estimated $5.3 million this weekend, bringing its domestic total to $304.2 million. It also reached $403 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $707.2 million. While it’s still lagging a bit behind the first film, these are impressive numbers, particularly when you consider the amount of competition this summer.
Things don’t look nearly as good for Solo: A Star Wars Story, however. The film grossed an additional $4.5 million this weekend, finally edging it past the $200 million mark domestically. It is now at $202.2 million in North America and $151.3 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $353.5 million. At this point, it’d be a shock if the film came even close to reaching $400 million – which, for a Star Wars movie, is embarrassing.
