Since then, Sony has wasted no time in confirming plans for more movies. The sequel is set to hit theaters on October 7th, 2022, while a female-centric spinoff (starring Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman and Silk) is in the works.     Sony is getting ready to begin production on its next Marvel movie, Morbius. Jared Leto stars as the titular Living Vampire. The film will also feature Matt Smith and Adria Arjona.     Marvel was well represented at last night’s 2019 Academy Awards. Black Panther was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture.     After the huge success of Venom, Sony Pictures is wasting no time in expanding its new franchise. The studio previously set release dates for two untitled Marvel movies in 2020.
