New MEN IN BLACK Movie Gets a Title and Logo
Sony is heading to Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP) to promote upcoming movies on Saturday. Among them is the new Men in Black, which stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as two new MIB agents. Now, the film has an official title and logo. First spotted by Collider on CCXP and later confirmed by Sony, the new movie is titled Men in Black International. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is an animated film starring well, Spider-Man, but not the Spider-Man you’re used to. This film stars Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) a high schooler who gets bitten by a radioactive spider. Now, Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) has been Spider-Man for 10 years. He’s Miles’ inspiration for becoming the second Spider-Man. Without getting into spoilers, the two share a bond that sticks with you for the rest of the film. VENOM Blu-Ray Details Announced
Sony’s Venom is arguably THE surprise hit of 2018. Despite negative reviews from critics, the film has been a juggernaut at the box office. As of this writing, it has grossed over $823 million worldwide. Now, fans can find out when to bring their favorite antihero home. Venom will be released on Blu-Ray, DVD and 4K on Tuesday, December 18th. The movie will be available on digital platforms one week earlier on December 11th. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is one of the winter’s most anticipated films, receiving rave reviews and tracking for a solid box office opening. Now, Sony is planning to expand the franchise with not one, but two more movies. Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s Joaquim Dos Santos has been hired to direct a sequel to Into the Spider-Verse, with Wonder Woman 1984 scribe David Callaham working on the screenplay. VENOM Soars Past $800 Million Worldwide
Sony’s Venom continues its global domination, as the movie has surpassed another key box office milestone. Venom may be slowing down in North America, where it has grossed $211.7 million, but it is still going strong overseas, thanks to record-breaking numbers in China. Internationally, the film has grossed a whopping $610.8 million. This brings its worldwide total to $822.5 million. These numbers make Venom the 14th highest grossing superhero movie of all time worldwide, and it is the fifth biggest film of 2018 so far. We’re just a few weeks away from the release of Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is already generating very positive buzz. Now, the animated movie has hit the tracking boards. Sony Sets Release Dates for Two Untitled Marvel Movies
After the massive success of Venom, plans for Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC) are in full swing. The franchise will consist of multiple characters from the Spider-Man universe, with many films in various stages of development. Now, we know when two movies will be arriving. Sony has set two release dates for untitled Marvel-based movies: July 10th, 2020 and October 2nd, 2020. VENOM Sets Record-Breaking Opening in China, Nears $700 Million Worldwide
Venom is still going strong, and this weekend, it finally opened in China, where it has had a record-breaking opening weekend. The Sony Marvel movie is opening with an estimated $111 million, which is one of the biggest movie debuts in China’s history. It is the second biggest superhero opening, behind Avengers: Infinity War‘s $191 million, while it is Sony’s largest debut in the country.
