The next DC film to undergo production will be the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel, which is now reportedly in the casting phase. A new rumor may reveal the villain of the movie, while a few characters from the first film are said to be returning.
According to That Hashtag Show, the villain in Wonder Woman 2 is none other than Cheetah, one of Diana’s most popular antagonists in the comics. Casting is underway for that role, and Warner Bros. apparently courted Emma Stone, who eventually passed. This Cheetah will be the Barbara Ann Minerva iteration.
Additionally, That Hashtag Show says that Saïd Taghmaoui and Ewen Bremmer are reprising their roles as Sameer and Charlie, respectively. Meanwhile, it looks like Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor will (somehow) return for the sequel too. The plot reportedly sees Diana and Steve reunite to take on the Soviet Union, with Cheetah thrown into the mix.
Wonder Woman 2 is said to be beginning production in the UK in late May, so we should be hearing more details soon. Again, this all is just a rumor for now, so stay tuned for any official confirmation.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to hit theaters on November 1st, 2019.
