Scott Derrickson Finalizes Deal to Direct DOCTOR STRANGE Sequel
Despite the success of 2016’s Doctor Strange, Marvel has been slow to give any details on a potential sequel, except that it is happening. Since then, Strange has become a recurring character in the MCU, including a show-stealing role in Avengers: Infinity War. Now, the Sorcerer Supreme’s next film is moving forward. Director Scott Derrickson has finalized a deal to return for the Doctor Strange sequel. A writer is currently being sought. Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong are attached to reprise their roles as Stephen Strange and Wong, respectively. Production recently began on Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far from Home, the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s Homecoming.
