ARROW To Introduce New Members Of The Suicide Squad This Season

The second season of Arrow saw the introduction of the Suicide Squad, which was formed by ARGUS. The initial lineup consisted of John Diggle, Lyla Michaels, Deadshot, Shrapnel and Bronze Tiger. Due to the positive reception to the “Suicide Squad” episode, there has been talk of featuring these characters again, possibly even giving them their own series. And now, it looks like we can expect some new faces in the Squad in the CW show’s third season. As a part of Entertainment Weekly‘s recent installment of “Spoiler Room,” Arrow‘s third season will see the introduction of new members to the Suicide Squad. No other details are provided. The season’s third episode, “Corto Maltese,” is said to be another Diggle-centric episode, so perhaps the new and improved Task Force X could debut here?

Then there’s the question of who will be a part of this new lineup. Deadshot and Bronze Tiger are expected to return. Obviously, Shrapnel had his head blown off last season, so we can count him out. There has been speculation that Harley Quinn, who made a cameo in the “Suicide Squad” episode, will make a full-blown appearance. However, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has strongly suggested that this is unlikely. Other options include Captain Boomerang (could he be introduced in The Flash before joining Arrow?), Clock King and China White. Perhaps ARGUS will recruit Slade Wilson’s Deathstroke into the Squad after imprisoning him at the end of last season. There are plenty of opportunities to explore, and hopefully, we’ll get a better idea of what to expect soon.

Arrow returns to The CW on October 8th.
