Alan Tudyk Weighs in on Potentially Reteaming with Nathan Fillion on BOOSTER GOLD/BLUE BEETLE Movie

Recently, fan-favorite actor Nathan Fillion expressed interest in playing DC character Booster Gold. It has been expected that Gold will appear in one of DC’s movie or television projects. Shortly after Fillion shared his interest, it was reported that Warner Bros. was developing a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle team-up film, which might be directed by Greg Berlanti.

Naturally, with Fillion saying he wants to play Booster Gold, fans have suggested that his Firefly and Con Man co-star, Alan Tudyk, could play Blue Beetle. And while speaking with ComicBook.com at New York Comic-Con, Tudyk was asked if this would be something he would be interested in doing.
Tudyk is seemingly unfamiliar with the Blue Beetle character, but he says he would be down with the role if it meant working with Fillion again. “Well, that’s great. If it’s working with Nathan, I’m in. Also, being a bug for me? I’d like that. Roly-poly is nice. I’d like to be one of them. That’s what we called them back in Texas, but they’re almost a beetle.”

Berlanti is rumored to be directing and executive producing the Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie, with Zak Penn in talks to write the script. Unlike many of WB’s DC Extended Universe projects, this one is said to be a full-on buddy-cop comedy. The studio has yet to confirm that such a film is in development, but once the DCEU formally kicks off next year, we should hear official updates on this project soon.
Would you like to see Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk re-team for the Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie?
