The next animated Batman movie has been announced, but this one is a big deal. Here, the Dark Knight will finally meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment, and Nickelodeon are teaming up for the crossover we all wanted: Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film is based on the 2015 comic book series Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which has spawned two more crossovers. In the movie, Batman and the Heroes in a Half-Shell will team up to take on the former’s iconic rogues gallery. Today, we’re going to be taking a look back at their long and unorthodox history. The Comics The TMNT made their comic debut in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 in May of 1984. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Ninja Turtles served as a parody of the comics that came before. You can see the influence the New Mutants and Daredevil had on the TMNT. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back! Now that their amazing series on Nickelodeon has ended, they are returning in an all-new take on the franchise. Does it live up to its predecessor? Paramount Puts New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE Movie in Development
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been adapted multiple times on the big screen. Most recently, Paramount rebooted the franchise with two films. The 2014 movie was a box office hit, while 2016’s Out of the Shadows was a bomb, leaving the franchise’s future unclear. But now, the heroes in a half shell are staging a comeback. According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Andrew Dodge (Bad Words) is scripting a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
