Davis’ response was simple: “She’s

elaborated with “She’s badass!“
She explained that she can relate to Waller because “She’s unapologetic. Everything that I’m reading about her and
studying about her: unapologetic, no humor, just brutal. That’s me.“

She then said that a bonus to playing The Wall. “Listen,
she gets to use a gun.” With
a laugh, she explained, “It’s my
fantasy. Now, I would never do that in life, but when I get a gun on a set, it
does something to me.“

Since the character was introduced during the John Ostrander
Suicide Squad run in 1986, Amanda
Waller has become a central figure in the DC Universe: Whether it’s as the
director of Task Force- X, the head of Checkmate or a Presidential Advisor on
Meta-Human and the head of ARGUS, Waller’s importance seems to increase every
year. It sounds like Viola Davis is
excited to breathe life into the character when she joins Will Smith, Margot
Robbie, Jared Leto and Director David Ayer later this spring.

I think I can safely speak for a lot of us when I say that
she’s not alone in her excitement to see Miss Davis in the DC Cinematic
Universe.
