DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will focus heavily on time travel, with the group of heroes and villains exploring different areas of time, past and future. One of these time periods will be the Old West, and while the team is there, it looks like they’ll be meeting a recognizable DC character: Jonah Hex.
Marc Guggenheim confirms to Variety that Jonah Hex will be coming to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. While the role has yet to be cast, the character will first appear in episode eleven of the show. Hex may become a recurring character on the show as well.
Guggenheim says, “Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
This will be Hex’s second live action portrayal. In 2010, a Jonah Hex movie starring Josh Brolin released to critical and commercial failure. Hopefully, his appearance on Legends of Tomorrow will be much more successful.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is set to premiere Thursday, January 21st at 8 PM EST on The CW.
