Amber Heard in Talks to Play Mera in AQUAMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE

Back in November, we learned that Mera (aka “The Queen of Atlantis”) would be making her cinematic debut in Justice League: Part One, but at that time, we weren’t aware of any actresses being looked at for the role.

Today, sources close to Justice League: Part One tell Variety that Amber Heard is being eyed to play Aquaman’s (Jason Momoa) love interest, Mera. According to this source, if Heard signs on, she would not only have a role in the first Justice League filmbut one as a co-star in the solo Aquaman film (to be directed by James Wan), as well.

Heard has appeared in a few recognizable titles, including Pineapple Express, Zombieland, and last year’s Magic Mike XXL, but has yet to really star in a true blockbuster. That would change if she gets this role.

Heard would join Momoa, Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), and Christina Wren (Carrie Farris) in Justice League: Part One.

Justice League: Part One is set to hit theaters November 17, 2017, while Aquaman awaits a July 27, 2018 release.
