Kevin Smith Expresses Interest in Bringing Onomatopoeia to ARROW

Kevin Smith directed this week’s episode of The Flash, delivering one of the season’s best episodes so far. He is also set to direct an episode in the show’s third season later this year. Now, he is interested in working on The CW’s other big DC show.

Speaking with Variety, Smith says that he wouldn’t want to write an episode of The Flash, but he would like to do some writing for Arrow. Smith is no stranger to the world of Green Arrow, as he previously wrote the comic book arcs “Quiver” and “The Sounds of Violence.”

During his comic book run, Smith created the villain Onomatopoeia. And if Smith were to write an episode of Arrow, he would want to bring that character to life on the small screen. “I would love to jump in for a one or two episode arc just to bring that Onomatopoeia character to life. That would be so badass – I created this character in the comics and then to do a live-action version of it that fit into their universe, fit into the run of their show? That would be exciting to me.”

Onomatopoeia is one of the few major Green Arrow villains who hasn’t been adapted to Arrow. With the show going into its fifth season this fall, it would make sense to introduce him in the near future. And now, with Smith wanting to bring the villain to life, it would be a perfect opportunity to jump on. Fingers crossed that it happens.
